The Prom

 McGrath Family Performing Arts Center

August 16th - 25th, 2024

After a scathing review from the New York Times closes their latest show on opening night, a couple of brassy Broadway performers embark on a mission to change the world and in the process, rehabilitate their image. Their selected cause is a teenager from a small Indiana town whose prom was canceled by the P.T.A. due to her desire to attend with her girlfriend. The Prom is a funny, smart, big-hearted musical about big Broadway stars, a small town, and a love that unites them all.

"White Christmas is another winner, with the perfect blend of holiday sentimentality and razzmatazz. Amazing talent and stunning costumes."

AMERICAN IDIOT

At the Arizona Theatre Company’s “Summer on Stage” program, a group of 33 teenagers from around Tucson spent five weeks putting together two shows around the theme “Summer of Youth Unheard,” to tie-in with ATC’s 2018/2019 season theme, “Scene in America.”

THE ADDAMS FAMILY

This is Arizona Theatre Company’s Summer on Stage workshop, chock full of talented high school students eager to learn more about theater from professionals. For the past three weeks, they’ve been preparing to present two plays: Shakespeare’s “Macbeth”, directed by Jasmine Roth, and the musical “The Addams Family”. Israel Jimenez directs that.

Watching them rehearse can be thrilling: They have a passion for theater that can’t be quieted.
